Full Appearance

Takashi is a pop-eyed, middle aged man with dark, loose, wavy, shoulder-length hair. His facial features consist of a long, trapezoidal face and a nose in the shape of a downward cross.

In the pachinko animation, he has slightly darker skin than other characters, presumably due to tan.

In the manga, he wears a light brown lounge suit with a red shirt underneath, a long yellowish tie and dress shoes.

History

Sometime prior to his appearance, he began a protection contract with Teiai Corporation, allowing his underground casino to operate without the fear of legal repercussions, becoming an affiliate of Teiai and familiar with Kazuya Hyōdō in the process.

He frequently used his underlings to lure other people of ill repute into games of modified Mahjong. His opponents would be convinced that they were cheating somehow, and therefore have a false sense of security, allowing Takashi himself to actually cheat without them noticing until they had already lost millions of yen. This allowed him to amass 480 million yen in winnings.

After their release from Teiai's underground labor camp, Takashi began employing Tomohiro Miyoshi and Maeda. Upon hearing of Kaiji Itō's 700 million yen winnings, he convinces Tomohiro and Maeda that Kaiji is feigning poorness and holding onto their cut. Feeling betrayed, the two agree to aid Takashi in a scheme to swindle Kaiji out of his wealth.

Tobaku Datenroku Kaiji

He, Tomohiro, and Maeda put their plan into action, tricking Kaiji into coming under the false pretenses that he is helping Tomohiro and Maeda take down their crooked boss through a game of Mine Field Game "17 Steps". The two pretend to skew the game in Kaiji's favor by reading Takashi's hand and feeding him false information about Kaiji's hand, when in reality the opposite is occurring. However, after Takashi wins repeatedly, Kaiji catches onto his plan but decides to play dumb to keep him in the dark.

Although Kaiji initially loses all his money, Kazuya Hyōdō loans him more so the game can continue. After several draws where the wager is doubled and it reaches 160 million yen.

By tricking the Takashi into thinking he had another tile, Kaiji is able to win 480 million yen due to him having ura-dora. Takashi wets himself due to shock from his tremendous loss.

Tobaku Datenroku Kaiji: Kazuya-Hen

He is seen at the beginning of the part talking to Tomohiro and Maeda about losing all his money and attempts to force them to pay him back, with the latter saying it is impossible for them to pay back such a large amount. He then claims he will kill himself if left alone.
